Mayphy is a professional singer, songwriter and musical educator.
After a 15-year career as a dancer in Tokyo, in 2006 she moved to London for three years of study at Vocaltech, LCCM and ABRSM in vocals, piano, composition and music mentoring. In 2010, she moved to France to learn chanson in Paris, released an album, “Rebirth,” and registered as a singer/songwriter with France’s SACEM and SPEDDIDAM. Since returning to Japan in 2012, she has maintained multiple roles in music education, teaching both music and dance.
In 2018, she released an album, “Mind Map.”
In 2018, she established a fashion brand, “Atelier de May.”

In 2006 she moved to London for three years of music study, earning one-year diplomas in Vocals at Vocaltech, Piano Performance & Production at LCCM (London College of Creative Media) and a Certificate of Teaching from ABRSM. Gaining experience in performance and composition, she became a professional singer/songwriter and jazz singer.
In 2008, she participated in the theatrical musical, “Griot” (Bernie Grant Arts Centre, London), and performed as a vocalist in a venue band at Umbria Jazz Festival, Italy.
In 2010 she moved to France to learn chanson in Paris, released an album, “Rebirth,” performed with world music band Phildissime and registered as a singer/songwriter with France’s SACEM and SPEDDIDAM.
In 2012, she returned to Japan, where she has maintained multiple roles in music education, such as music teacher (theory, vocal, piano, instruments) and dance instructor (jazz, hip hop, contemporary) in Kyoto.
In 2018, she released, “Mind Map,” a jazz and chanson album that includes six original compositions and three arrangements.
In 2018, she started her own fashion brand, “Atelier de May,” featuring arty-vintage patchwork bérets and handmade knit products for all ages.
